Apples are a beloved symbol to me. It speaks of abundance, nourishment, and harvest. Apples carry the weight of seasons, reminding me that ripening cannot be rushed, but promised. After a deeply introspective and healing year in 2024 (as every year seems to be), I feel called more than ever to embrace and trust in the universe’s natural unfolding. I feel that through nurturing my soul, I am always ready to harvest life’s abundance!

I find that a lot of my creative work, both in writing and visual arts, delve deep into my lived experiences. I am compelled to capture my healing and growth with the hope that it can inspire people who connect with my art.

“Apple Girl” was originally a zine I created in 2023 about feeling lost in my 20s, and the hope I harbored every time I found myself in a slump. While it started when I was feeling hopeless, I find myself leaning more to the symbolism and hope to explore what abundance means to me. One day, I hope to be an old woman, wise and fulfilled in her continued art practice, looking back at my work. I hope that I am sitting in my kitchen one day, coffee mug in hand and a flower vase adorning my table, rereading my little creations. I want to see in them the proof of a life well-lived—a life of creation, connection, and abundance.
